The before photo shows how this open view wasn't possible previously. The sandblasted wood ceiling feels much lighter than before.

  • h

Taller and wider doors and windows bring in more daylight and create a better connection to the outdoors.

  • h

A lot of clutter is removed. Before photos are pieced together to achieve a similar view.

  • h

Connection from the dining room to the kitchen and to the back yard is greatly improved.

  • h

The kitchen is redone in the same space, but with a much wider window and modern finishes and appliances.

  • h

The new kitchen is much more open to the dining and living space.

  • h

Removing the partition separating the kitchen is most dramatic in this before and after series.

  • h

Previously, this was an outdoor grill that had been enclosed, but created a left-over space. It is now an office/ sitting room outside the master bedroom.

  • h

This is now a tub with a view in the master bathroom.

  • h

A small bathroom is made to feel much bigger.

  • h

A 3/4 bath is now a powder room.

  • This bathroom was added by turning three bedrooms into two with en-suite baths.

Mid-Century Update 1

This remodel updates a typical 1960’s design that was dark and enclosed by raising windows and doors, removing low eaves and interior partitions that blocked views to the outside. The ceiling is sandblasted, interior dividers are taken out, and bathrooms are enlarged and updated.
